Introduced as a relative 'Late-comer" to the industry the 2-8-0 would quickly rise to popularity as a freight hauler the late 19th and early 20th century with its use spanning from the US to Europe. Hailed for its versatility during its run, the 2-8-0 would serve as a heavy freight hauler for various rail-ways before eventually seeing its use wind down starting in 1915. With a handful now in museums, there is still one model still operating in Pennsylvania today!
This item has been graded per TCA standards C-6: Very Good based on visual appearance. The locomotive has been customized by the previous owner -- please see the repair card for the details. The engine was replaced with a motor that requires a remote control. The locomotive is therefore being sold As-Is. The locomotive and tender show scratches and spots of paint loss throughout various sections of the shell and chassis. This item has been inspected by our repair shop. Please see the attached picture for inspection details and additional operation information. The instruction manual is not included. The original box is included.
