Lionel 517 Vintage Standard Gauge Tinplate Red Caboose

This is a Lionel 517 Vintage Standard Gauge Tinplate Red Caboose from 1927-40. Features include interior illumination, all tinplate construction, link couplers, tinplate trucks with journals, metal wheels and axles. This caboose is part of Lionel's 500 series standard gauge freight cars which are a bit smaller than the 200 series large freight cars. The all-red 517 replaced the red and green 517 in the late 1930s, and it is seen a bit less often.
